The MAKEDO corn hybrid is an early-maturing three-line hybrid of universal purpose, suitable for cultivation as grain or silage. It is characterized by high tolerance to spring cold and rapid early growth, ensuring successful plant development under various climatic conditions. Medium-height plants (250-275 cm) have a conical-cylindrical ear shape and a semi-silky kernel type with yellow-orange coloring. The recommended seeding rate is 85-100 thousand plants per hectare for grain and 100-110 thousand plants per hectare for silage.
The hybrid is included in the State Register for the Central, Central Chernozem, and Volga regions, where it demonstrates high yield and stability. Average grain yield reaches 80.6-99.2 c/ha, exceeding standard varieties by 7.8-40.2%. The vegetation period varies from 116 to 155 days depending on the region and harvesting conditions. Grain moisture at harvest is approximately 27-30%, and dry matter content in green mass reaches 27.5-41.1%, contributing to high-quality silage.
The MAKEDO hybrid shows resistance to common smut and moderate resistance to stalk rot, and is weakly affected by Fusarium and ear mold. Its anthocyanin coloring is evident in various parts of the plant, including the first leaf sheath and roots, which is a distinctive feature of this variety. High starch content (about 72%) and protein (about 9.2%) in the grain make this hybrid attractive for feed use and production of high-quality grain.
