Wheat ANTILLE

Reliable Italian Genetics for Modern Farming

Winter wheat "Antille" by Apsovsementi S.P.A is designed for agronomists aiming to reduce fungicide costs without sacrificing yield volume. Thanks to its robust genetic immunity against major pathogens, this variety allows for a more flexible approach to spraying schedules—a critical advantage when field work windows are tight.

Field Performance and Agronomy

With a plant height of 80-90 cm, "Antille" is an exceptionally manageable crop. Its compact stature, combined with superior lodging resistance, solves a common issue in intensive farming: the risk of crop loss due to heavy nitrogen fertilization. You can push for maximum yields with intensive management without the fear of the crop collapsing during heavy rain or wind events.

The Genetic Defense Shield

The primary strength of "Antille" is its phytosanitary resilience. In crop rotations with high disease pressure, this variety demonstrates outstanding tolerance to:

• Yellow and Brown Rust;
• Septoria leaf blotch;
• Fusarium head blight;
• Powdery mildew.

These aren't just catalog numbers; they represent a real opportunity to minimize chemical intervention while keeping the flag leaf healthy until harvest. For the farm, this translates directly to optimized plant protection budgets and reduced chemical load on the soil.

Practical Advantages

The bearded (awned) ear structure is not just a visual trait; it is a practical benefit for regions with high wildlife pressure, as awned varieties are typically less attractive to grazing animals. "Antille" from Apsovsementi S.P.A is well-suited for various sowing windows, ensuring uniform emergence and strong tillering before entering the winter dormancy phase.
