NOVOSIBIRSKAYA 44 is a variety of soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), characterized by a medium-early maturity period with a vegetative period ranging from 72 to 88 days. The plant is medium-height, semi-erect, with a cylindrical ear of medium density and colored grain; the mass of 1000 grains varies from 31 to 46 grams. The grain is large, red in color, with high natural weight — from 762 to 806 g/L, which indicates its high quality. The variety belongs to the lutescens and multorum types, differs in resistance to lodging and shattering, which facilitates harvesting and increases yield preservation. NOVOSIBIRSKAYA 44 has high drought resistance and good adaptive capabilities, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including regions with limited moisture. The variety is resistant to powdery bunt and root rots, moderately susceptible to powdery mildew, septoria, and brown rust, but susceptible to common bunt. These characteristics ensure yield stability and reduce the risk of losses under unfavorable weather conditions and diseases. According to test data, the yield of the variety is on average 3.5 tons per hectare, with a maximum indicator of up to 5.6 tons. The grain differs in high baking qualities due to gluten content of about 25% and raw protein at the level of 14%, making it valuable for producing high-quality flour and bakery products. The variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including the Ural region, Orenburg region, and the Republic of Bashkortostan, due to its productivity and resistance to stress factors.
