Voronezhskaya 12 — a semi-late soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety with a growing period of 72-86 days. The plant is medium-height, resistant to lodging, and ripens 3-7 days later than the medium-early variety Budimir. The variety is distinguished by high adaptation to early spring drought and cold return, ensuring crop stability in complex climatic conditions. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 28 to 32 grams, indicating large grain size and good grain quality.


Voronezhskaya 12 has good resistance to powdery mildew, but is susceptible to powdery bunt and brown rust, and is moderately resistant to solid bunt. Baking quality of the variety is evaluated as good, making it in demand for bakery products production. The productivity potential according to the originator data is from 4.0 to 5.7 tons per hectare, confirming the high yield potential of the variety.


The variety was created based on an interspecific hybrid combination involving the soft wheat variety Kharkivska 12 and the hard wheat breeding line 89-752. In terms of disease resistance such as powdery mildew, septoria, and brown rust, the variety meets the standard. The yield reaches 3.51 tons per hectare, and the mass of 1000 grains is about 46.6 grams, indicating the high quality and potential of the variety for various agricultural technical conditions.
