NOVOSIBIRSKAYA 40 is a soft winter wheat variety with a medium-early vegetative period ranging from 314 to 355 days. The variety is characterized by enhanced winter hardiness and drought resistance at the standard level, allowing for successful cultivation in various climatic conditions. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 31 to 42 grams, and the average yield in recommended regions is about 26.1 centners per hectare. NOVOSIBIRSKAYA 40 belongs to the lutescens subspecies and is recommended for cultivation in the Lowland Subtaiga, Foreland Subtaiga, and Northern Forest-steppe zones of Novosibirsk Oblast.

The variety is distinguished by high resistance to lodging and shattering, which helps preserve the yield under unfavorable weather conditions. It possesses good resistance to major diseases, including fusarium, septoria, root rot, and rust, ensuring healthy plant development and stable yield. Fast and simultaneous grain ripening allows for early harvesting, which is particularly important for optimizing agronomic measures.

NOVOSIBIRSKAYA 40 is unpretentious regarding cultivation conditions and adapts well to various soil types. The ear has a cylindrical shape with medium density and moderate waxy bloom, and the plant is erect with medium height. The grain contains 11 to 13% protein and 24-30% wet gluten, providing excellent baking qualities at the filler level. Thanks to its characteristics, the variety is suitable for cultivation in zones with risky agriculture and ensures a stable and high-quality yield.
