The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and drought resistance, ensuring stable yields in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including steppe, forest-steppe, and Polissia. Plant height ranges from 80 to 105 cm, thousand-grain weight is 42.7–49.4 g, and the vegetation period lasts approximately 268–278 days. Seeding rate depends on the cultivation zone and soil moisture, ranging from 3.7 to 6.0 million seeds per hectare.
Kievskaya 8 demonstrates high resistance to diseases and stress factors, including lodging, shattering, root rot, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew, significantly reducing yield losses and improving grain quality. Potential yield exceeds 100 centners per hectare, with average farm yields reaching 89.8 centners per hectare, significantly surpassing national standards. The variety responds well to intensive cultivation technologies and requires application of retardants for optimal development.
Grain of variety Kievskaya 8 is characterized by high protein content (13.2–14.0%) and gluten (26.4–28.9%), ensuring excellent baking qualities. Dough strength ranges from 267–312 W, and loaf volume reaches 980–1000 ml, making this variety attractive for producing high-quality flour and bakery products. Recommended for cultivation in various regions of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe, confirming its versatility and adaptability.
