DONYEKO is a soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety developed at the FSBSI «Don Zone Research Institute of Agriculture» and included in the register since 2010. The pedigree of the variety includes Tarasovskaya 87 and Martonvasari 12, which ensures high grain quality and crop stability. The variety belongs to semi-intensive, medium early and moderately tall, with plant heights ranging from 74 to 112 cm, which facilitates cultivation and harvesting.
DONYEKO has a wide ecological adaptability and is recommended for growing in various regions, including the Central Chernozem Region, North Caucasus, Middle Volga region, Lower Volga region, as well as the Northwest zone of Rostov Oblast and the Right-bank and Left-bank zones of Volgograd Oblast. The variety demonstrates high resistance to lodging, heat and drought tolerance, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions.
The baking qualities of DONYEKO are recognized as excellent, confirming its value for producing quality flour. The variety is moderately resistant to brown rust, head scab and septoria, and is also resistant to powdery mildew and viral diseases. At the same time, it is slightly susceptible to snow mold and root rots. Average yield is 47.6 c/ha in the North Caucasus region and 27.2 c/ha in the Lower Volga region, which indicates its productivity and adaptability.
