Novodonskaya is a mid-ripening variety of hard spring wheat (Triticum durum Desf.), possessing high productivity potential and excellent pasta-making qualities. The plant is medium-sized, resistant to lodging and drought, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. The grain of this variety is large, white, with a 1000-grain mass reaching 50 grams. The head is cylindrical in shape, 5 to 6.5 cm in length, red in color, wide and dense, non-bristled. The variety is distinguished by its resistance to fungal diseases such as brown rust, powdery mildew, and bunt. Novodonskaya is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including the Western Steppe Zone of the Orenburg region, as well as the republics of Adygea, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, Crimea, North Ossetia – Alania, Chechnya, the Rostov region, and the Stavropol Territory. The variety demonstrates good yield, with an average according to ecological variety testing of about 5.8 tons per hectare, reaching record figures of up to 24.6 centners per hectare under certain conditions. Due to its qualities, Novodonskaya is widely used for the production of high-quality pasta. The variety was bred by specialists of the Federal Rostov Agrarian Research Center and included in the state register for the Ural region. Its resistance to adverse weather conditions and diseases, as well as high productivity, make it attractive for agricultural producers seeking to obtain a stable and quality harvest.
