Voloshinka is a medium-late variety of soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), characterized by a medium-height but sufficiently long and low-growing plant. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 33 to 40 grams, indicating good grain development. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to lodging and drought resistance, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions, especially in the South Forest-steppe of the lowland Omsk region and the West Siberian region, where the average yield reaches 22.6 centners per hectare, and the maximum is up to 5.51 tons per hectare.
This variety was created based on alloplasmatic crosses and passed state variety testing in Russia and Kazakhstan. Voloshinka possesses high ecological plasticity, which allows it to successfully adapt to various growing conditions. Moreover, the variety is resistant to diseases such as powdery scab, powdery mildew, and brown rust, which significantly reduces the risk of yield losses and increases its stability.
In addition to high yield and resistance to adverse factors, Voloshinka is distinguished by good baking qualities. The gluten content in the grain reaches 30%, ensuring high flour quality and final products. Thanks to these characteristics, the variety is popular among agricultural producers oriented towards obtaining high-quality and stable yields of soft spring wheat.
