Wheat variety Licamero is a soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) of early or medium maturity with a vegetation period of about 90-91 days. This variety was developed by French breeders SECOBRA Recherches and is characterized by rapid development in early growth stages. It is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including Moscow, Kostroma, Belgorod, Kursk, and Oryol regions, and successfully adapts to drought-prone conditions, such as in the Republic of Kazakhstan, where the sowing rate is reduced to 300–350 pcs/m².
Licamero is characterized by high resistance to lodging and head fusarium, ensuring stable yields even with minimal fungicide use. The 1000-grain weight varies from 33 to 44 grams, indicating good grain quality. The yield of this variety varies across regions from 29.7 centners/ha in the Northwest to 41.0 centners/ha in the Central Chernozem, with an average yield of about 2.97 tons/ha, and a maximum potential yield of up to 73.4 centners/ha.
Licamero belongs to the bakery direction and is valued for its high-quality grain and resistance to adverse climatic conditions and diseases. The recommended sowing rate ranges from 50 to 550 pcs/m² depending on sowing time and growing conditions. Thanks to its characteristics, Licamero is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high and stable yields of soft spring wheat.
