Winter wheat soft variety 'Libidь' is recommended for cultivation in all regions of Ukraine, including Polissya, Forest Steppe, and Steppe. This medium-maturing variety is characterized by high yield potential up to 9.7 t/ha, as well as strong grain quality, ensuring good baking properties of the grain. Plant height varies from 93 to 105 cm, with strong, lodging-resistant straw, which contributes to stable harvests.
The 'Libidь' variety has enhanced winter hardiness and resistance to a broad spectrum of diseases, including brown rust, powdery mildew, septoria, Fusarium ear rot, and root rots. Resistance levels to lodging, shattering, and root rot are rated 8-9 points, while resistance to brown rust and powdery mildew is rated 6-7 points. The grain contains 13.4-14.0% protein, and the 1000-grain weight is 39-42 g, confirming high product quality.
The breeder is the Krasnodar Research Institute of Agriculture named after P.P. Lukyanenko. The variety was included in the State Register of Selection Achievements of the Russian Federation since 2009 and is protected by patent. 'Libidь' is recommended for sowing on medium and low fertility soils, including heavy and waterlogged areas, and is suitable for minimal and zero tillage. Crop rotation with corn for grain is permitted. High resistance to viral diseases and field stress makes this variety a reliable choice for cereal production.
