KWS Collada wheat is a soft winter wheat variety registered in the State Register in 2023. It is a mid-early maturing type with semi-upright plant habit. The spike is pyramidal, 7–10 cm long, with white coloration; the grain is large, covered with fine hairs, light-colored, and semi-elongated. Plant height reaches approximately 79 cm, and the 1000-grain weight varies from 37.2 to 52 g depending on region and growing conditions.
The variety is characterized by high yield and stable grain quality. In the Akmola region, yields reached up to 31.8 centners per hectare. KWS Collada wheat exhibits high milling and baking qualities: crude gluten content is 31.7%, protein content is 15.4%, and loaf volume reaches 970 ml. The overall grain quality rating is 3.5 points. Additionally, the variety shows high resistance to lodging, shattering, and drought, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions.
Special attention has been given to disease resistance: the variety demonstrates high resistance to powdery mildew, septoria, and Fusarium ear blight. This enables cultivation of KWS Collada wheat in steppe zones with minimal risk of yield loss due to diseases. The variety is recommended for sowing in various quality classes and meets high standards for seed material, ensuring its efficiency and stability in agricultural production.
