Wheat Arktis

German breeding against Fusarium

Winter wheat "Arktis" from the breeding house Deutsche Saatveredelung is the choice for growers who prioritize grain quality stability, even under unfavorable phytosanitary conditions. Unlike many varieties focused solely on total yield, "Arktis" focuses on the plant's natural defense barriers.

Why choose "Arktis"?

• Targeted Resistance: The key difference of this variety is its high tolerance to Fusarium head blight. In conditions of a humid summer, when the infection pressure increases sharply, this variety helps maintain the grain's commercial grade and reduces the risk of mycotoxin accumulation.
• Yield Potential: The reported 8–9 tons per hectare is a highly achievable metric when following intensive cultivation technology.
• Stalk Strength: Excellent lodging resistance simplifies the harvesting process, minimizing losses and allowing for operations within optimal timeframes.

Who is this variety for? "Arktis" is an optimal solution for farms practicing wheat cultivation after high-risk predecessors (such as corn for grain). Where other varieties might "burn out" due to Fusarium, the German genetics of Deutsche Saatveredelung demonstrate enviable endurance.

When working with this variety, it is crucial to remember: its genetic resistance is a powerful foundation, not a substitute for standard fungicidal treatments. Nevertheless, "Arktis" gives the agronomist precious time and the assurance that even if optimal treatment windows are missed, the harvest will remain high-quality.
