Wheat KWS Scirocco

Stable Yields with Minimal Risks

When seeding a field with durum wheat, the main fear is always Fusarium. With KWS 'KVS Shirokko', the work feels more secure: this German-bred variety has demonstrated high resistance to head blight. For a grower, this means predictability—fewer costs for fungicide treatments and confidence in the quality of the commercial grain at harvest.

Field Performance

In the field, 'Shirokko' behaves predictably. Plant height ranges from 60 to 90 cm, which, combined with good lodging resistance, significantly simplifies operations for the combine operator. There is no need to deal with flat crops, which is critical when aiming for a target yield of 7-8 tons per hectare. The grain quality is high: the 1000-kernel weight stays within 35-40 grams, providing an excellent start for emergence.

Why Choose This Variety?

• Performance: A gluten content of over 30% allows for consistent quality metrics for processors.
• Reliability: German KWS breeding guarantees varietal purity and compliance with the stated specifications.
• Manageability: Optimal height makes it easier to apply fertilizers and crop protection products during the vegetation period.

If your goal is to produce high-quality durum wheat without constant surprises, 'KVS Shirokko' is a reliable option that pays for itself through consistent performance year after year.
