Lastivka Odeska is a type of intensive winter wheat variety recommended for cultivation in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia zones. It is characterized by a high yield potential of up to 7.84 t/ha and forms large-grained grain with a 1000-grain mass of 42-46 g. Plants are 111-124 cm tall, and the vegetative period is 275-278 days, which ensures stable crop development on high agronomic backgrounds.
The variety is noted for its comprehensive resistance to a wide spectrum of diseases, including brown rust, stem rust, powdery mildew, septoria, fusarium of the head, and black point. Additionally, it has enhanced competitive ability in the biocenosis with weeds, which helps reduce the negative impact of unwanted vegetation. Lastivka Odeska is also resistant to shattering, which facilitates harvest collection.
This wheat variety is suitable for ecologically clean technologies, including organic farming, due to its endurance and disease resistance. Protein content in the grain is 13.3-14.2%, and raw gluten content is 30-34%, making it valuable for various application directions. The recommended sowing rate is 4.5-5.0 million viable seeds per hectare, which ensures optimal crop density and maximum productivity.
