Kolos Poliskyi

Wheat of the Kолос Polissky variety belongs to the erythrospermum type and is characterized by a medium-length, dense, pyramidal white ear. The plant is of medium height with a strong stem of medium thickness and a flag leaf without anthocyanin pigmentation and waxy coating. The grain is red, egg-shaped, and of medium size. The 1000-grain weight ranges from 41 to 50 grams. The ear is cylindrical, white, with grains having a powdery tint and oval-rounded shape. Plant height varies from 85 to 96 cm, and the plant has an intermediate form.

The variety exhibits high resistance to lodging and shattering, rated at 8 points, as well as good resistance to root rot, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew, with ratings of 6-7 points. The variety has above-average winter hardiness and is resistant to freezing and snow mold, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe and Polissia regions of Ukraine. The recommended seeding rate is 5.0-6.0 million germinating seeds per hectare.

Kолос Polissky is valued for its high yield, reaching 10.5 tons per hectare, as well as its excellent grain quality. The protein content in the grain is 13.4-13.8%, and the gluten content is 28.3%. The variety is also highly rated for its baking properties: the volume of bread made from 100 grams of flour reaches 600-680 mm. These characteristics make the variety attractive for agricultural production and processing.
