Wheat Krasa Polissia

Stability for Northern Regions: Productivity Focused

The spring wheat variety 'Krasa Polissia', developed by the Nosivka Selection and Research Station, has been proving its reliability in conditions of unstable moisture for decades. Unlike modern imported intensive hybrids that require high mineral input, this variety shows remarkable plasticity and adaptation to the soil and climatic conditions of Northern and Central Ukraine.

Key Advantages

• Optimized Vegetation Period: The 100–110 day growth cycle allows the crop to effectively utilize spring moisture, avoiding the critical heat stress of mid-summer drought.
• Controlled Development: As a spring variety, it provides a predictable start and uniform ripening, which is essential for managing harvest logistics in regions with volatile weather.
• Local Genetics: Adapted to local pathogen pressures, this variety offers a competitive edge in disease resistance without the need for expensive high-intensity pesticide applications.

Who is this for?

'Krasa Polissia' is not aimed at record-breaking yields under perfect lab-like conditions; it is designed for guaranteed performance in risk-prone agricultural zones. This variety is optimal for farms looking to reduce production costs by utilizing their own seed stocks and moderate nitrogen application. While its yield potential is lower than that of highly intensive hybrids under extreme fertilization, this drawback is offset by lower seed costs and consistent grain quality, making it a reliable workhorse for Ukrainian fields.
