Winter wheat variety Kitri is a high-yielding and high-quality Czech selection, intended for farmers seeking a stable and productive harvest. This variety has a medium-maturing period, ranging from 87 to 95 days, and plant height of approximately 80-90 cm. Kitri has high yield potential — from 65 to 78 centners per hectare, with potential up to 95 centners, making it one of the leaders among winter wheat varieties. Thousand-grain weight varies within 43-45 grams, and the recommended seeding rate is 3.5-6 million germinating seeds per hectare, ensuring optimal crop development under various climatic conditions. The variety exhibits high resistance to major diseases, including powdery mildew, fusarium, root rot, and brown rust, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss. Additionally, Kitri demonstrates good resistance to lodging and shattering, thanks to its strong stem and even ripening, which facilitates harvesting and minimizes grain loss. The drought resistance of this variety is rated 8 points, allowing its cultivation in various zones including forest-steppe, meadow-steppe, and steppe, while the variety shows adaptability to growing conditions and retains high performance even under unstable moisture levels. The quality of Kitri’s grain is highly valued in the bakery industry. The grain is soft, brown in color, with white or straw-yellow ears. Protein content in the grain is 12.8-14%, and gluten content is 28-31%, ensuring high flour strength (280-340), essential for producing high-quality bread. Seed storage conditions require temperature from +7 to +10°C and humidity not exceeding 10%, which helps preserve germination and quality. Seed packaging is done in 1000 kg bags, convenient for agricultural enterprises and promoting efficient use of the variety in agriculture.
