Corn NS 444 is a simple, universal-purpose hybrid developed by the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad (Serbia). This hybrid has a high yield potential, reaching over 140 ц/ha for grain and up to 800 ц/ha for silage. Its vegetation period corresponds to FAO 450, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions in flat regions up to 400 meters above sea level.
Corn plants of NS 444 reach a height of 300-350 cm under adequate moisture. The hybrid's stem is elastic, providing excellent resistance to lodging. The ear has a cylindrical-conical shape, up to 30 cm long, with 14-16 rows of kernels. The kernels are yellow, dent type, with a 1000-kernel weight ranging from 360-380 grams.
Hybrid NS 444 exhibits high drought resistance, enabling successful cultivation in various regions with varying moisture levels. The recommended plant density at harvest varies depending on the cultivation zone: in forest-steppe regions — 50-55 тыс./ha, in central steppe — 45-50 тыс./ha, in southern and dry steppe — 40-45 тыс./ha. These characteristics make NS 444 a reliable choice for achieving high yields of both grain and silage.
