Winter wheat variety Favoritka is a high-yielding and high-intensity soft wheat variety developed by the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. This medium-maturing and medium-stemmed variety is characterized by high adaptability to soil-climatic conditions, enabling successful cultivation in the Polissia and forest-steppe regions. The vegetation period is 283-287 days, ensuring stable grain formation. Favoritka exhibits resistance to lodging, powdery mildew, brown leaf rust, as well as high drought tolerance and moderate winter hardiness, making it a reliable choice for various agroclimatic zones. The grain of variety Favoritka possesses high milling and baking qualities. Protein content in the grain ranges from 12.5 to 13.8%, and crude gluten content from 26.7 to 30.1%. Dough strength reaches 248-296 °F, ensuring bread volume from 100 g of flour within 960-1000 ml. The overall baking quality rating is 4.0-4.5 points, indicating high product quality and value for the baking industry. The grain has an egg-shaped form with a shallow groove, which also positively affects technological characteristics. Cultivation technology for variety Favoritka is low-maintenance and well-adapted to various soil types. Fertilizers are recommended to enhance yield, which can reach 10 tons per hectare.
