Winter wheat seeds of the Lennox variety are an early-maturing and drought-resistant variety, ideal for cultivation in dry regions of Ukraine. This variety features a medium-height, glumeless ear and early heading. The number of spikelets reaches 570 per square meter, with each spike containing up to 31 grains, and the 1000-grain weight is approximately 45 grams. Lennox exhibits high resistance to major diseases, including brown and yellow rust, leaf and spike septoria, powdery mildew, and Fusarium spike disease, ensuring stable yields and reducing the risk of losses.
The variety is characterized by high drought resistance (8 points) and moderate winter hardiness (6-7 points), enabling successful cultivation under various climatic conditions, including regions with adverse weather. Lennox also shows high resistance to lodging (9 points), which helps maintain grain quality and facilitates harvest. The yield potential of this variety reaches 80-85 centners per hectare, making it an attractive choice for farmers focused on high production levels.
Sowing of the Lennox variety can be conducted over a wide window — from mid-October to mid-April, allowing for both autumn and spring sowing, including reseeding after severe frosts. Recommended seeding rates and nitrogen fertilizer application depend on the sowing time and crop development stage, enabling optimal agronomic practices tailored to specific growing conditions. Under intensive cultivation, plant growth regulators and fungicides are applied to protect against diseases and enhance productivity. The Lennox variety is packaged in 1-ton seed units and produced by the company Agro-Fort.
