Kievskaya 7 / Kyivs'ka 7

Wheat variety Kievskaya is a high-yielding, medium-maturing soft winter wheat variety of the intensive type. It is characterized by high winter hardiness and drought resistance, allowing successful cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe. Plant height varies from 60 to 105 cm depending on the source, and the thousand-grain weight ranges from 42.7 to 49.4 g. The seed sowing rate ranges from 3.7 to 6.0 million seeds per hectare, depending on climatic conditions and soil moisture.

The variety exhibits resistance to a broad spectrum of diseases and stress factors, including lodging, kernel shattering, root rot, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew. Thanks to its high tolerance to fusarium and other diseases, Kievskaya ensures stable and high yields, averaging 89.8–102.4 c/ha, with potential yields exceeding 100 c/ha under intensive cultivation and proper fertilizer application.

The grain of the Kievskaya variety has excellent baking qualities: protein content is 12.5–14.0%, gluten content is 23–28.9%, flour strength reaches 267–312 W, and loaf volume is 980–1000 ml. To achieve maximum productivity, a third application of dry nitrogen fertilizers or foliar application of urea during the heading to milk ripening phase is recommended. The variety is suitable for cultivation under various soil-climatic conditions, demonstrating high plasticity and resistance to stem breakage.
