Kamyshanka 5

Kamyshanka 5 is a soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety of medium-early or medium-maturity type, recommended for cultivation in the Lower Volga and Western Siberia regions, as well as in the Right Bank zone of the Volgograd region. This variety is adapted to light chestnut and brown soils, ensuring good adaptation to local agro-climatic conditions. The vegetation period ranges from 256 to 289 days, allowing for a stable yield in the specified regions.

Kamyshanka 5 plants are of medium height, ranging from 72 to 98 cm, with a cylindrical ear of medium density and length. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 37 to 48 grams, indicating good grain quality. The variety's winter hardiness is above average, at the level or slightly higher than the Don 93 variety, although drought resistance is somewhat lower than the standard. The variety is susceptible to brown rust, requiring attention during crop protection. Average yield in the region reaches 15.3–26.7 c/ha depending on growing conditions.

To achieve optimal productivity and grain quality, it is recommended to adhere to a sowing rate of about 3.5 million viable seeds per hectare. Yield and grain natural moisture depend not only on the sowing rate but also on other agronomic factors, highlighting the importance of a comprehensive approach to cultivating this variety.
