IZYUMINKA

The "Izyuminka" soft winter wheat variety is a mid-early, medium-height or dwarf variety, possessing high resistance to lodging and drought. It was created through interspecific hybridization based on the Donskoy Mayak and Umanka varieties and is characterized by a white, awnless, cylindrical ear of medium length and density. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 37 to 45 grams, while plant height ranges from 96 to 106 cm. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region, including Krasnodar Krai, Rostov and Stavropol regions, as well as in the Northwestern, Central, Azov and Southern zones of the Rostov region. The yield of the "Izyuminka" variety is characterized by stability and high productivity. Average yield in competitive trials reached 7.86 t/ha with various predecessors, maximum — 9.83 t/ha on black fallow. In the Rostov region, yield is about 39.5 c/ha, and in the North Caucasus region — up to 56.1 c/ha. The variety is well adapted to various crop rotations, allowing sowing after grain corn and sunflower, which expands its application possibilities in crop rotation. Wheat "Izyuminka" has good baking qualities and is included in the list of varieties valuable for grain quality. It is resistant to brown and yellow rusts, powdery bunt, and also shows medium resistance to powdery mildew and septoria. Moreover, the variety is distinguished by high frost hardiness and drought resistance, which makes it a reliable choice for cultivation in conditions of variable climate. All these characteristics make "Izyuminka" a promising and in-demand soft winter wheat variety.
