Odessa Era is a high-yielding winter soft wheat variety of high-intensity type for universal use, recommended for all zones of Ukraine. This medium-maturing variety is distinguished by high uniformity and yield stability, making it attractive for cultivation on high and medium agronomic backgrounds with intensive technology. The wheat ear is awn-bearing, white, with a moderate waxy bloom, which provides additional protection to the grain and improves product quality.
The variety exhibits high resistance to lodging and shattering, rated at 8-9 points, ensuring harvest preservation under unfavorable weather conditions. Furthermore, Odessa Era demonstrates high frost hardiness and drought resistance at the level of 8-9 points, allowing for successful cultivation in various climate zones of Ukraine. The wheat also possesses field resistance to diseases such as brown rust, stem rust, yellow rust, and powdery mildew, reducing the need for frequent fungicide application.
To achieve maximum productivity, a seeding rate of 4.5-5.5 million viable seeds per hectare is recommended. The variety is resistant to root rot (5-6 points), which further enhances its reliability and viability in various soil and climate conditions. Odessa Era is a promising variety for cultivation in the steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine, combining high productivity, stress and disease resistance, and versatility of application.
