Winter wheat Glaucus — a medium-maturing variety recommended for sowing in the Polissia and Forest-Steppe regions of Ukraine. This variety is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 12 tons per hectare, and resistance to adverse weather conditions, including drought and late sowing. Plant height is 100-110 cm, thousand-grain weight — 46.6 g, indicating good grain quality. Protein content in the grain is about 11.5%, and crude gluten content — 22.6%, making it valuable for processing and bread production.
Glaucus has high winter hardiness and resistance to a wide spectrum of diseases, such as powdery mildew, yellow and brown rust, leaf and head septoria, fusarium head rot, and root rot. Due to these characteristics, the variety ensures stable yields even with minimal fertilizer and plant protection product application. Recommended seeding rate is 2.5 to 4.0 million germinating seeds per hectare, corresponding to 300-450 seeds per square meter.
The variety Glaucus has been included in the State Register of Varieties since 2014 and is produced by the company STRUBE in Germany. Packaging unit — 1 ton (Big-Bag). Recommended sowing period — from early September to mid-October, allowing optimal use of agrotechnical potential of the region. Due to its combination of high yield, disease resistance, and adaptability to various climatic conditions, this variety is a reliable choice for farmers seeking quality and stable winter wheat yields.
