Fedorovka wheat is a high-yielding forage wheat variety widely used in animal husbandry for feed compound feed production. This variety is distinguished by high protein content in grain — from 11 to 15%, as well as vitamins of group B and E, which ensures high energy value of feed. Due to low grain moisture, not exceeding 15%, Fedorovka wheat stores well and retains its nutritional properties. It is important to note that this variety is not intended for human food consumption, but serves exclusively as high-quality plant feed for animals. Fedorovka is characterized by high adaptability and resistance to adverse conditions, including extreme drought. The variety has high frost and winter hardiness, enabling successful cultivation in forest-steppe and Polissia zones. Moreover, the wheat is resistant to several diseases, such as brown and stem rust, as well as powdery mildew, which contributes to stable yields and reduces losses during cultivation. The yield of Fedorovka wheat varies from 7.1 to 12.8 tons per hectare, making it one of the most productive forage wheat varieties. Grain is distinguished by high protein content (13.4–14.2%) and gluten (32–35%), which enhances the quality of compound feed. The variety is a type of erythrospermum and was developed by the Selection and Genetics Institute of the National Center for Seed Production and Variety Evaluation. Due to its characteristics, Fedorovka wheat is in demand in the region and is a profitable choice for agricultural producers.
