Duma Odeska

The winter wheat variety Duma Odeska is a high-yielding, medium-late maturing variety recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones. It has a high yield potential, reaching 7.6 to 12.8 tons per hectare, with an average yield of 59.2–68.7 centners per hectare according to state trials, exceeding national standards by 8–15%. The 1000-grain weight varies between 42–45 grams, and protein content is at 13.4–14.5%, ensuring high grain quality. Gluten content is 32–36%, also meeting quality standards.

The Duma Odeska variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and frost resistance, rated 8–9 points, as well as drought tolerance (8.6–8.9 points). It has a high requirement for vernalization (about 50 days) and is sensitive to photoperiod. The genotype of the variety contains the wheat-barley translocation 1AL/1RS, which enhances its resistance to biotic factors. Due to this, the variety demonstrates high resistance to major fungal diseases such as brown rust, powdery mildew, and Fusarium head blight.

Duma Odeska is a versatile variety that responds well to nitrogen fertilization and is suitable for various agrofunds and preceding crops. The vegetation period is approximately 286–287 days, and the recommended seeding rate is 5.0–5.5 million seeds per hectare. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, the variety is widely used under various climatic conditions and ensures stable high yields with proper agronomic practices.
