Kharkivska 96

Winter wheat variety "Kharkivska 96" is a fifth-generation soft wheat with high production reliability and stable yield. This medium-maturing, medium-height variety exhibits enhanced winter hardiness, exceeding average levels, allowing successful cultivation across various regions of Ukraine, including steppe zones. Due to its resistance to lodging and shattering, as well as low susceptibility to powdery mildew, rust, and Fusarium, "Kharkivska 96" demonstrates high disease resistance and resilience to adverse weather conditions.

The variety is characterized by high productivity — yields reached 71.8 c/ha in post-registration trials. The grain has elevated levels of gluten (33-37 %) and protein (14.0-17.2 %), making it especially valuable for the bakery industry. The vegetation period ranges from 80 to 95 days, and seeding rate varies between 255-285 kg/ha. For healthy stands, it is recommended to treat seeds with fungicides and insecticides prior to sowing.
