Wheat variety Faunus is a medium-early, high-yielding, glumeless variety with excellent quality characteristics. It features high protein content (13.4–13.7%) and crude gluten (27.8–28.5%), ensuring high grain quality. The 1000-grain weight ranges from 36.9 to 44.0 grams. Its long, fairly sturdy stem, about 90 cm tall, exhibits excellent lodging resistance, while its strong tiller forms a large number of productive tillers and spikes with high grain density, contributing to a potential yield of 90–120 c/ha. The Faunus variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and tolerance to stress factors, including drought. It is resistant to major leaf and spike diseases, particularly powdery mildew and brown rust, ensuring good plant health. Thanks to these traits, wheat tolerates complex weather and soil conditions, making it especially suitable for regions of Southern and Eastern Ukraine, as well as areas with variable climates. Faunus is suitable for late sowing, with optimal sowing dates ranging from September 10 to October 5, with seeding rates from 3.4 to 4.4 million seeds per hectare depending on sowing time. The variety forms a small ear and requires maintaining good stand density for maximum productivity. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, Faunus is a reliable choice for intensive agriculture in various regions of Ukraine.
