Winter wheat variety Hvala is a high-yielding and climate-adapted variety designed for cultivation under various climatic conditions, including forest-steppe and Polissia regions. This variety exhibits enhanced winter hardiness, drought resistance, lodging resistance, shattering resistance, as well as resistance to major diseases and pests such as powdery mildew, brown rust, septoria, and snow mold. The thousand-grain weight ranges from 42–48 g, indicating large kernel size, and the protein content in grain is 13.3–14.8%, with gluten content of 28.1–32.9%, making it suitable for bakery industry.

For successful cultivation of Hvala wheat, proper soil preparation and optimal sowing dates are crucial. It is recommended to use cultivators in combination with harrows or rollers to create a compact seedbed with bulk density of 1.1–1.3 g/cm³. Seeds are sown in rows with 15 cm spacing at a depth of 3–5 cm, at a seeding rate of 200–220 kg per hectare. The best sowing period is late September to early October, when average daily air temperature is 14–17°C. This allows plants to fully utilize winter-spring precipitation and avoid water deficit during grain filling.

During the vegetation period, pests, diseases, and weeds must be monitored to ensure high-quality harvest. Harvesting is conducted at full grain maturity with moisture content of 14–17%. The potential yield of Hvala variety can exceed 11.5 t/ha, making it an attractive choice for farmers aiming to achieve high and stable yields of winter soft wheat.
