Wheat Doskonalist Odeska

A Proven Choice for Intensive Crop Management

«Doskonalist Odeska» (Odessa Perfection) winter wheat, developed by the Plant Breeding and Genetics Institute (National Center of Seed Science and Cultivar Research), is a premium choice for farmers focused on achieving high yields (8–10 tons/ha) through professional agronomic management. Designed for optimal growth in fertile soils, this variety rewards intensive care with superior performance.

Operational Advantages in the Field

Practical application of this variety centers on its ability to maximize productivity per hectare. With a stem count reaching 4.0–5.0 million per hectare and a height of 90–100 cm, it stands out for its excellent lodging resistance. This allows farmers to apply necessary nitrogen fertilizers without the risk of crop collapse, which is essential for heavy-yielding seasons.

Strong Agronomic Foundation

The variety is genetically armored against common threats, reducing the need for expensive chemical interventions. It demonstrates high resistance to:

• Brown rust (Puccinia recondita);
• Septoria leaf blotch;
• Fusarium head blight;
• Powdery mildew.

By integrating this variety, agronomists can streamline their fungicidal protection schedules, focusing on targeted treatments rather than broad-spectrum prophylactic spraying. With a 1000-grain weight of 40–45 grams, it produces high-quality grain that is well-regarded by elevators and processors.

Management Strategy

The vegetative period of 90–100 days fits well into standard crop rotation cycles in the South and Central regions. Because it is an intensive variety, it performs best when early-season weed control and moisture retention techniques are strictly implemented. It is the ideal candidate for fields where the goal is to convert high-input agricultural technology into consistent, high-tonnage output.
