Wheat Harmonia Odeska

Stability in volatile climates

Winter wheat 'Harmoniya Odeska', developed by the Plant Breeding and Genetics Institute, is designed to meet the primary challenge of modern agriculture: achieving high yields under unstable climate conditions. As an intensive-type variety, it offers a yield potential of 7 to 10 tons per hectare, but its true value lies in its exceptional adaptive capacity.

Strategic Advantages

• Genetic Resilience: The variety boasts strong resistance to key pathogens, including brown rust, septoria, fusarium head blight, and powdery mildew, which significantly reduces the frequency and cost of fungicide applications.
• Structural Integrity: With a height of 90–100 cm, the plants show remarkable lodging resistance. This is a critical factor for farmers utilizing intensive fertilization programs.
• Grain Quality: A 1,000-seed weight of 40–45 grams ensures consistent grain fill and high milling output, making the crop highly attractive to grain processors.

Ideal Use Case

'Harmoniya Odeska' is optimized for commercial farms targeting high yield stability in Steppe and Forest-Steppe regions. Its 90–100 day vegetative period allows the crop to effectively utilize spring moisture before the onset of extreme summer heat. This variety is perfect for agronomists seeking a balance between high output potential and robust protection against common cereal diseases. While it is highly responsive to favorable conditions and intensive management, growers should note that achieving the top-tier 9–10 ton yield potential requires a high-quality nutritional background and strict adherence to optimal planting dates. It is a reliable workhorse for those who prioritize both quantity and quality.
