Corn DN Getera — a mid-late maturing hybrid of Ukrainian selection with FAO maturity group 420, developed by the Institute of Grain Crops of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. This hybrid is intended for cultivation in steppe zones and is characterized by high yield potential: grain — from 15.0 to 17.0 t/ha, silage mass — 50.0–55.0 t/ha. Plants reach a height of 250–260 cm, with ear attachment height of 90–100 cm. Grain is dent-shaped, yellow, forms in 14–16 rows with 40–45 kernels per row, and 1000-kernel weight varies from 320 to 350 g.
Hybrid DN Getera exhibits high resistance to major diseases and pests, reducing the need for intensive plant protection. It also demonstrates high drought tolerance (rating 8), lodging resistance (9), and cold tolerance (7), ensuring stable yields even under adverse climatic conditions. Rapid early growth promotes effective soil utilization and plant development during the initial vegetative stage.
DN Getera has been included in the Ukrainian Variety Register since 2015 and is one of the modern hybrids presented by the Institute of Grain Crops of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences as part of innovative developments. Thanks to its combination of high productivity, stress and disease resistance, this hybrid is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high yields of grain and silage in Ukraine’s steppe regions.
