The winter hard wheat variety 'Elisay' is the result of selection by the Agricultural Limited Liability Company 'Pobeda'. It was created by combining morphologically homogeneous lines selected from the hybrid population Kharkovskaya 23 Yara/Leukrum 1963, and belongs to intergeneric origin. This variety is characterized by a medium-length, prism-shaped ear of 8–9 cm, which is glabrous, awned, and white. The awns are stiff, serrated, and white, while the grain is amber-colored with a 1000-grain weight of 44–48 g. The variety belongs to the Leukrum group and is adapted to steppe ecological conditions. Biological features of the 'Elisay' variety include medium maturity, plant height of 90–100 cm, as well as high cold tolerance and frost resistance exceeding average values. It exhibits high drought resistance and resistance to lodging. The variety demonstrates high resistance to various types of scab, septoria (8–9 points), rust, and powdery mildew (7.5 points), while being moderately susceptible to fusarium. The potential yield of this variety is high, ranging from 9 to 12 tons per hectare, confirmed by competition trials where the average yield reached 5.68 t/ha and the maximum was 9.86 t/ha. The grain quality of the 'Elisay' variety is characterized by good macaronic properties, grain density of 800–820 g/l, crude gluten content of 32–38 %, and protein content of 14.8–17.5 %. The overall rating of macaronic products from this variety is 4.5–4.8 points. For optimal cultivation, the variety is recommended to be sown after fallow land, perennial grasses, and peas, sown at the beginning of the optimal sowing period for winter wheat in the corresponding zone, with a seeding rate of 5.0 million viable seeds per hectare.
