Dunyasha

Dunya — a medium-maturing, awned variety of hard winter wheat, suitable for cultivation in the forest-steppe zone of Ukraine. This variety is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 7 tons per hectare, and good test weight of grain around 800 g/l. The 1000-grain weight ranges from 46 to 50 grams, and protein content is between 13.5–13.7%, making it particularly valuable for food use.

The Dunya variety exhibits high winter hardiness and drought resistance, as well as strong stems, which provide resistance to lodging and grain shattering. The vegetation period ranges from 265 to 280 days, corresponding to the medium-late maturity group. Thanks to these qualities, the variety is suitable for intensive cultivation and ensures stable yields even under adverse climatic conditions.

The primary use of Dunya wheat is in the production of confectionery and pasta products. Seeds of this variety undergo strict quality control and meet Ukrainian agricultural standards, guaranteeing genetic stability and high quality of seed material. The breeder is the Nosivska Selection Experimental Station.
