Wheat Aspekt

Genetic Potential and Adaptability

Winter wheat variety Aspect from the German breeding house Deutsche Saatveredelung is a benchmark of specialized breeding, focused on stability under volatile climatic conditions. Developed by breeders Dieter Stelling and the DSV team, this variety demonstrates pronounced adaptability, combining a high yield potential (up to 10 tons per hectare) with significant winter hardiness (rated up to 9 points).

Grain and Vegetation Technical Specs

A key engineering decision in this variety is the optimization of grain filling. The thousand-grain weight (TGW) ranges from 40 to 50 grams, ensuring high commercial output even under stress during the maturation phase. A vegetation cycle of 80–100 days allows the crop to effectively utilize spring moisture, minimizing yield losses from early summer droughts.

• Winter Hardiness: A rating of 7–9 points ensures survival against sharp temperature fluctuations, critical for regions with unstable snow cover.
• Productivity Potential: The genotype's flexibility allows the variety to achieve yields ranging from 6 to 10 t/ha, depending on the agricultural background and cultivation intensity.
• Breeding Control: As the originator, Deutsche Saatveredelung maintains strict control over line purity, minimizing risks of genetic segregation and ensuring uniform maturation across the entire field.

In practice, Aspect is favored by farms focused on intensive production where outcome predictability is paramount. High winter hardiness combined with premium grain quality makes this variety a reliable tool in crop rotation strategies for maximizing profitability.
