Vika – a highly productive variety of spring wheat TULUNSKAYA 73, created for cultivation in moderately continental climatic conditions. The variety is characterized by high protein content (≈13–14 %) and good grain shrinkage, making it attractive for both industrial production and home use.
One of the key advantages of Vika is its resistance to a wide range of diseases: powdery mildew, shiv, as well as most fungi and bacteria. This allows for a stable yield even under unfavorable climatic conditions. The variety also exhibits good tolerance to drought and low temperatures, which expands its geographical range of cultivation.
The optimal sowing period – 15-20 days after the end of winter at a soil temperature of +5 to +10 °C. When following recommendations for fertilization and mulching, Vika can achieve a yield of 8-9 t/ha, which is 70-80% of the regional norm. Due to its stability and high productivity, this variety is suitable for mixed agricultural systems and provides stable income for farmers in moderately hot regions.
