Vika – a hybrid variety of bugovchanka (grain rye), intended for sowing in the spring months. The variety is characterized by high yield potential, resistance to diseases and pests: it is resistant to rot, powdery mildew, and fungal infections. Plant height is 70–80 cm, grain density is 120–140 g/m², and under normal conditions, the average yield reaches 8–9 t/ha.
The variety tolerates drought well and has good resistance to leaf diseases. Vika is suitable for growing in temperate climatic zones where sufficient soil moisture and temperature are maintained to ensure plant growth. Due to its resistance to pests – mosquitoes and black awns – it can be used as hay and pasture.
Vika also differs in heat and cold hardiness, which allows it to be grown in a wide range of climatic conditions. The fruiting period is 90–120 days, and yield in the form of grain reaches 8–10 kg/ha under optimal agrotechnical conditions.
