Tulip Manhattan

Engineering approach to the Triumph class

The 'Manhattan' tulip is a selection solution focused on commercial floriculture. Belonging to the Triumph class, this hybrid combines a rigid stem structure with increased physiological resistance, which is critical for producing marketable cut flowers of standard quality.

Biological protection and adaptation parameters

The main technological advantage of 'Manhattan' is its genetically determined resistance to key bulb pathogens. Under field conditions, the variety demonstrates high tolerance to the following threats:

• Downy mildew: the dense cuticle of the leaves reduces spore penetration into the leaf blade.
• Fusarium wilt: the specific architecture of the root system minimizes the risk of basal plate damage during soil waterlogging.
• Powdery mildew: the variety effectively suppresses mycelium development in the early stages of vegetation.

Visual and agrotechnical characteristics

The petal color scheme is a rich combination of yellow and red, which maintains intensity even with late flowering times. The late vegetation period allows the plant to gain sufficient vegetative mass, which ensures an average peduncle height—an optimal parameter for forming dense bouquets without losing stem stability. The stability of the habit allows for the use of mechanized soil cultivation and harvesting methods without the risk of damaging the stems.
