Tulip Charmeur

The Charmour Tulip: Contrast and Resilience

The Charmour tulip, a standout representative of the Triumph class, is prized by growers not only for its aesthetic appeal but for its mechanical and biological reliability. Its signature look—a vivid red petal base tipped with a crisp white edge—provides a distinct, high-contrast appearance that holds up exceptionally well throughout the late blooming season.

Engineered for Disease Resistance

In the world of commercial floriculture, reliability is everything. Charmour is notable for its robust genetic profile, which offers significant protection against the most common threats to bulbous plants. Growers choosing this variety can expect reduced losses due to its inherent resistance to:

• Anthracnose, ensuring healthier foliage;
• Root rots, which often plague bulbs during storage and early spring growth;
• Powdery mildew and Downy mildew, even in dense planting configurations.

Its medium-height stem is another tactical advantage. While tall enough to be an elegant cut flower, the stem strength is superior to many other varieties, preventing the lodging (toppling) that often occurs during heavy spring rains or high winds.

Why choose Charmour?

Charmour is an ideal choice for both professional cut-flower production and thoughtful garden design. Because it is a late-flowering variety, it serves as a valuable tool for extending the tulip season, providing a vibrant finale to the spring display. It is best suited for growers who prioritize consistency—those who need a cultivar that performs predictably without demanding constant, intensive interventions to combat fungal pressure.

While it is low-maintenance, late-season moisture management is the key to maximizing the bloom size. When provided with consistent soil health in the final weeks, Charmour delivers a high-quality, long-lasting head that remains in prime condition for extended periods.
