Tulip Denise

Technical Profile of the 'Denis' Tulip

The 'Denis' tulip, belonging to the Triumph class, is a selection solution designed for professional forcing and landscape design. This variety is categorized under late-blooming groups, enabling efficient production scheduling and the creation of flower beds with a prolonged decorative effect.

Morphological and Genetic Characteristics

The key feature of 'Denis' is its striking, contrasting petal coloration, combining deep red and pure white hues. Its bloom geometry follows the classic Triumph form: the dense, cup-like shape maintains its structural integrity even under adverse weather conditions, which is critical for minimizing losses during commercial production.

• Classification: Late-blooming, Triumph class.
• Dimensions: A medium-height plant, ensuring high resistance of the flower stem to lodging.
• Phytosanitary Resilience: Breeding efforts have focused on reducing the risks associated with fungal pathogens. The variety demonstrates high tolerance to downy mildew (peronosporosis) and powdery mildew, which is essential for high-density greenhouse cultivation.

Practical Application

For agronomists and landscape designers, 'Denis' is valued for its predictable vegetative period. Its medium stem height makes it versatile, perfectly suited for both cut flower production and forming dense mass plantings in open fields. Resistance to powdery mildew reduces expenditure on fungicidal treatments, allowing for optimized plant protection protocols.
