Tulip Queen of Night

The industry benchmark for dark-toned tulips

The 'Queen of Night' tulip is recognized globally as the gold standard of single late-flowering varieties. Its signature ink-black petals with deep maroon undertones make it a highly sought-after cultivar for luxury floristry and sophisticated landscaping projects.

Practical application and cultivation strategies

• Late-season production: By blooming in late May, this variety allows growers to extend their sales window, capturing the market when earlier tulip varieties have already faded.
• Structural integrity: Reaching heights of up to 60–70 cm, the stems are robust and upright. In professional settings, this height allows for efficient machine-assisted care and uniform harvest cycles.
• Soil management: Like most premium late tulips, 'Queen of Night' performs best in well-drained, sandy loam. In heavy soil conditions, proactive drainage management is critical to prevent bulb rot during the dormant phase.

For commercial growers, the aesthetic value of this variety justifies its place in the rotation. Because of its intense color, it serves as an excellent 'anchor' in landscape design, providing dramatic contrast to lighter varieties. When used for cut flower production, its longevity in a vase is a key competitive advantage that retailers and floral designers prioritize.
