Tulip Mantel's Dream

An Elegant Drama in the Spring Garden

Mantel’s Dream stands out with confidence in the fringed tulip segment. Unlike many counterparts prone to excessive delicacy, this hybrid maintains an architectural rigidity of the bloom, complemented by a dense, almost needle-like fringe along the edges of the petals. The deep, rich red hue is highly resistant to sun fading, making it a clear favorite for mid-ground landscape arrangements.

Key Development Characteristics

Classified as a mid-season bloomer, this tulip perfectly bridges the gap between early spring bulbs and summer perennials. Its medium stem height makes it highly versatile, suitable both for cut flower arrangements and garden borders, where it provides a bold focal point without overwhelming surrounding plants.

• Durability: The dense petal structure provides better resistance to spring wind and rain than many traditional tulip varieties.
• Blooming Dynamics: The signature fringe develops fully as the bud opens, turning the flower into a sophisticated piece of floral lace.
• Maintenance Requirements: Like all fringed hybrids, it demands well-drained soil; waterlogging is detrimental to the root system.

Mantel’s Dream is not for those seeking a «basic red tulip.» It is a choice for gardeners who value texture and the interplay of light on complex forms. While it is forgiving of minor horticultural oversights, it truly flourishes under direct light and shelter from harsh drafts. It is the ideal candidate for creating high-contrast patches in any garden design.
