Tulip Marathon Champion

Technical Profile of Marathon Champion

Belonging to the Triumph class, the Marathon Champion hybrid is a balanced biological system optimized for stable flowering during mid-season. The core value of this cultivar lies in the integration of aesthetic parameters with high resistance to pathogenic flora.

Phytopathological Resilience

The breeding of this hybrid focuses on mitigating risks most critical for bulbous plants in both greenhouse and open-field environments. Genetically encoded protection against downy mildew and powdery mildew allows for minimizing fungicide application during the vegetative period. This advantage ensures the integrity of the foliage, which is vital for efficient photosynthesis and the accumulation of nutrients in the bulb after the flowering phase.

Morphological Indicators and Life Cycle

• Class: Triumph. Characterized by a large goblet-shaped flower with high petal density.
• Color Palette: A deep lilac shade, resistant to fading under direct sunlight.
• Dimensions: Medium-height type, providing an optimal ratio of stem length to bud size. This geometry prevents lodging during heavy rainfall or wind loads.
• Vegetation Period: Mid-season flowering hybrid. Shifting the flowering phase to the middle of the season avoids early late-spring frosts and allows for efficient resource allocation in commercial logistics or landscape design.

The engineering of the Marathon Champion hybrid is designed for professional growers who require predictable outcomes with reliable stem strength and high phytosanitary safety of the planting material.
