Tulip Helmar

Professional Grade Performance in Tulips

The 'Nelmar' tulip, a classic member of the Triumph group, is engineered for commercial reliability. Its balanced height and structural integrity make it a preferred choice for growers focused on high-quality cut flowers and structured landscape displays. The variety excels in environments where resilience against common fungal pathogens is a top priority for economic efficiency.

Practical Applications for Commercial Growers

• Late-Season Forcing: As a late-blooming variety, 'Nelmar' allows growers to extend their harvest window, providing a vibrant red and lilac color palette when early-season varieties have already exited the market.
• Disease Resistance: The hybrid shows excellent natural defense mechanisms against Peronospora, Phomopsis, Phoma, and sunflower rust. This reduces the need for frequent chemical intervention, allowing for more sustainable cultivation cycles.
• Cut Flower Profitability: The sturdy stems and classic petal structure ensure that the blooms maintain their aesthetic appeal during transport and display, essential for meeting retail quality standards.

For optimal results, growers should focus on maintaining a well-drained substrate, as 'Nelmar' performs best when soil moisture is managed effectively during the budding phase. Regular phosphorus and potassium supplementation during the active growth period will enhance the depth of its unique red-lilac pigmentation, ensuring a premium finish that stands out in wholesale and florist markets.
