The triticale variety 'Egor' was included in the Ukrainian variety registry in 2023 and patented under number 230557. The breeder is the LLC 'Peremoga'. The variety was developed by selection from the hybrid combination 'Rarity/ХАД 7' and belongs to the alternative type of development, subspecies suberitrospermum. Plants reach a height of 105 cm, have a spindle-shaped, dense, and long ear with short awns located in the upper half of the ear. The upper internode hair is weak, there is no awn hair on the spikelet glumes, and the lower glume's awn is very short. The grain is large, elongated, yellow-white, and well-filled.
The variety is medium-maturing when sown in autumn and late-maturing when sown in spring. It exhibits above-average winter hardiness and high drought resistance. Resistance to lodging is rated at 9 points, and resistance to diseases at 8-9 points. Grain yield is high: over five competitive trials on black soil in autumn sowing, the average yield was 10.84 t/ha.
The grain has excellent feed and baking qualities. Protein content in the grain reaches 15.0%, carotene — 4.10 mg/kg, gluten — 24.8%. The gluten deformation index (IDK) is 60 arbitrary units, flour strength — 216 arbitrary units. The volume bread yield is 708 ml, and the overall baking quality rating is 9 points, confirming the high quality of the flour and its suitability for baking.
