Triticale Zlatoust

Working with Zlatoust winter triticale

Working with this variety from the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute is primarily about predictability. For an agronomist betting on winter triticale, “Zlatoust” solves the key issue — stability amid volatile weather conditions. It is not the kind of variety that requires daily field monitoring; it possesses an impressive immunity, which is critical during the high-pressure harvest season.

Agronomic field resistance

The main headache in field management is fungicide load and the constant battle against fungal infections. With “Zlatoust,” you significantly save on chemical applications. The variety demonstrates complex resistance to:

• Snow mold (relevant for regions with long, harsh winters).
• Brown wheat rust.
• Septoria.
• Powdery mildew.

These parameters allow for a more flexible spraying schedule, preventing critical crop damage during high-humidity periods.

Operational features

It responds well to mineral fertilization without being prone to lodging, which simplifies combine operations. Heading into the field with the harvester is stress-free: the stalks hold their structure, the grain does not shatter, and the separation process runs smoothly. Ultimately, you receive commodity-grade grain that does not require complex post-harvest handling.

This is a reliable choice for those who value predictable outcomes without unnecessary costs for disease management or yield losses.
