Table Beet FIRST HARVEST

Practical experience growing 'Perviy Urozhay' beetroot

When planning to store beetroots for a long time, choosing the right variety is crucial. It is a classic table beetroot variety that performs predictably in any soil type.

Field performance and handling

The main advantage of this beetroot is the uniformity of the root crops. During harvest, there is no need to sort through 'tiny' or 'giant' specimens: almost all fruits have a correct, rounded shape. This is critical for mechanized harvesting, as it reduces vegetable bruising. The dark red color of the flesh is maintained even after several months in storage; there are no coarse rings inside, and the texture remains firm and juicy.

• Stress resistance: the variety handles temperature fluctuations well, and the tops do not wither with minimal care.
• Storage capacity: the beetroot maintains its turgor after January, with the skin remaining firm, which prevents premature wilting.
• Culinary use: ideal for processing, as it has an intense color that does not fade during heat treatment.

Crop maintenance comes down to standard procedures: thinning, weeding, and timely irrigation. The 'Perviy Urozhay' variety does not require specific agrotechnical techniques, which simplifies seasonal planning. It is a solid, reliable variety that consistently provides a marketable volume of produce, suitable both for the fresh market and for personal consumption throughout the winter.
