Table Beet SEDEK MATRONA

Practical insights on growing Matrona beets

For growers focusing on long-term storage, the 'Matrona' variety by Sedek offers the predictability that is essential for a steady supply chain. In the field, this variety shows excellent uniformity, which simplifies mechanized harvesting significantly. The round, smooth shape of the root crops reduces mechanical damage, ensuring a cleaner product upon harvest.

Performance and processing utility

The core advantage of Matrona is its storage longevity. The dark red flesh maintains its color and texture throughout the winter season, provided standard storage protocols are followed. Developed by breeders S.V. Dubinin, I.N. Dubinina, and A.N. Lukyanenko, the variety is engineered to withstand the rigors of commercial logistics.

• Processing efficiency: The ideal rounded shape ensures minimal waste during industrial peeling and processing.
• Storage capabilities: Low susceptibility to decay and moisture loss makes this a top choice for stockpiling.
• Handling: The uniform size distribution makes sorting and packaging more efficient, reducing labor costs in the packing house.

If you are supplying retail chains, 'Matrona' provides a reliable source of raw material that retains its market value long after the harvest. Its consistent performance ensures you spend less time grading and more time fulfilling orders.
